The course covers a range of topics, including stress and strain, seismic wave propagation (both body waves and surface waves), seismic tomography, seismic sources, earthquake kinematics and dynamics, and the representation theorem of seismic sources. Students will delve into the mathematical formulation of these concepts, gaining a deep understanding of the underlying principles that govern seismic phenomena.
